Accessibility Statement

We are committed to making amarillofp.com usable for everyone, including people with disabilities, and to continually improving the experience for all visitors.

Our Commitment

Amarillo Family Physicians believes that everyone deserves easy access to clear, accurate information about their care. We are working to ensure our website is accessible to people with a wide range of abilities, including people who rely on assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice control, and keyboard-only navigation.

Standards We Follow

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our internal standard. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities and more usable to everyone.

Features Built Into This Site

  • A “Skip to main content” link for keyboard and screen reader users
  • A clear page structure with landmarks (navigation, main content, footer)
  • Text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA color contrast
  • Animations are reduced or removed when your operating system requests “Reduce motion”
  • Images that convey information include text descriptions
  • Buttons, menus, and accordions communicate their state to assistive technology
  • Videos are embedded with titles and may be opened directly on YouTube for additional caption controls

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some areas of the site may not yet be fully accessible. Known items we are working on:

  • Embedded third-party content (YouTube videos, Google Maps) is controlled by those providers and may not match every accessibility setting we control on our own pages
  • PDF documents and external systems linked from this site (including the Patient Portal) are managed by their respective providers
