Bone Density Testing
DEXA scanning for osteoporosis screening, fracture risk assessment, and full body composition analysis — all in one appointment.
We offer DEXA (Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry) scanning on-site — the gold standard for measuring bone mineral density and body composition. For bone health, the DEXA scan screens for osteoporosis and osteopenia, conditions that weaken bones and increase fracture risk. It's recommended by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force for women age 65 and older, postmenopausal women with risk factors, and men age 70 and older. The same DEXA technology also provides a detailed body composition analysis — measuring your total body fat percentage, lean muscle mass, visceral fat (the dangerous fat around your organs), subcutaneous fat, and left-to-right symmetry between limbs. This goes far beyond what a scale or BMI calculation can tell you, giving you and your physician a complete picture of your skeletal and metabolic health. The scan uses an extremely low dose of radiation, takes just 5 to 10 minutes, and is completely painless. All DEXA scans are supervised by Chuck Vagrosky, a registered and licensed imaging specialist with over 30 years of experience (RDMS, RDCS, RVT, RT).

Bone Density & Body Composition
DEXA scan — the gold standard for bone density and body composition measurement
Screens for osteoporosis and osteopenia before fractures occur
Assesses fracture risk in the hip, spine, and other vulnerable areas
Recommended for women 65+, postmenopausal women with risk factors, and men 70+
Also recommended for anyone with a history of fractures, significant height loss, or long-term steroid use
Full body composition analysis — total body fat percentage, lean muscle mass, and bone mineral content
Visceral fat measurement — identifies dangerous fat around internal organs linked to heart disease, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome
Subcutaneous fat measurement — fat stored under the skin
Left-to-right symmetry analysis — compares muscle and fat between limbs for rehabilitation and fitness tracking
Painless and noninvasive — just lie on a padded table for 5–10 minutes
Extremely low radiation — less than one day of natural background exposure
Results reported as T-scores and Z-scores for bone density, plus detailed body composition breakdown
Supervised by Chuck Vagrosky — RDMS, RDCS, RVT, RT with over 30 years of experience
Stop calcium supplements 24–48 hours before your scan for accurate results
